Six Sentence Sunday!

http://www.sixsunday.com/Well here we are again, it's that exciting tie of the week where I share a six sentence snippet of my novel FIRE AND ICE, a YA fantasy romance featuring faeries, witches and elves (oh my) (sorry, couldn't resist!)

So now for something not quite so romantic, since the faerie realm isn't all kisses and caresses.....

I was still alive.
And in one piece.
For now.
I tried to pick up the necklace, but my muscles still felt like lead.
Heavy, numb and impossible to control.
The redcap with the longest talons, approached me cautiously.

  16. Thanks so much everyone, for all of your wonderful words! This is great fun! Just to clarify, redcaps are like goblins in the faerie realm who need to soak their caps in the blood of their victims in order to stay alive. Nasty creatures. He approaches Lorelei cautiously because he recognizes that the necklace she dropped holds powerful magic for the wielder. Thanks again!
